Keep on stabbing, Lightning Scorpio!

Lightning Scorpio (Japanese: ロール=サソード, Rōru=Sasōdo, Roll=Sasword) is a Rapid Fire-Type Core Change System B-Daman. It was first released in Japan on November 26, 2011 and will be released internationally on August 1, 2013.

Lightning Scorpio appears in the anime and manga series, B-Daman Crossfire owned by Simon Sumiya. In Cross Fight B-Daman eS, it was upgraded to Mach Scorpio.

Body Set: Scorpio (Sasword)[]

Head Part: Scorpio Head[]

The Scorpio head has a Scorpion motif. It could be used as a grip along with the Scorpio Arms.

Arm Parts: Scorpio Arms[]

The B-Daman's Arm Parts each have a motif of a scorpion's arms and pincers. Their design allows the user to hold them like handle grips, or as the B-Daman's gimmick suggests, do a one-handed hold on either side.

Stud Parts[]

Lightning Scorpio has Blue studs.

Leg Part: Scorpio Leg[]

The Scorpio Leg is basic, but smaller than the others. That isn't good since Lightning Scorpio is Rapid Fire-Type. However, equipping a stabilizer compensates that.

Core Part: Roll[]

Roll has a ring-shaped trigger extension, as part of Scorpio's gimmick, which is using only one hand to hold and fire the B-Daman. Similar to OneSide's grip.

Product Differences[]

Hasbro's Lightning Scorpio has differences compared to Takara Tomy and Sonokong's Lightning Scorpio. The Scorpio Body is now a maroon rather than a light red. The Scorpio Head removed its sticker for a smaller red, blue, yellow and white decal placed at its right. All other yellow decals are gone while its eye sticker turned from green to blue. The Scorpio Arms removed all blue and black stickers for curved yellow ones at each shoulder. The Scorpio Legs also removed all red and blue stickers for new red, yellow and blue ones.

B-Daman Crossfire[]

Lightning Scorpio was first used by Simon Sumiya during a challenge and used its super shot to receive a good score in the episode "Did you say...B-Daman?".

Trivia[]

  • Sasword's name is a portmanteau and wordplay between the words Sasori (サソリ) meaning Scorpion and Sword (ソード So-do)
  • It has two things in common with Gill Scorpion; they are both Rapid Fire-Types, and have scorpion motifs.
